CIX Dazzles In Oakland During “Save Me, Kill Me” Finale

Since their debut in 2019, CIX, whose name stands for “Complete in X,” CIX has been quietly cementing itself as a generation-four K-Pop group to watch. Composed of Members BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, Bae Jinyoung, and Hyunsuk, the talented five-member group is a staple point of C9 Entertainment’s roster. With a discography that spans five EPs and two studio albums (one Korean and one Japanese), the group continues to outdo itself with each and every comeback.

On Sunday, March 26, at 7:20 PM PST, the energy in the Paramount Theatre was abuzz as fans – lovingly referred to as FIX – made their way to their seats and began final preparations (last-minute photos of the stage, selfies, turning on their lightsticks, etc.) before the prodigious quintet took the stage.

When the venue light went down, the crowd was illuminated by the white, blue, and red glows of the 포에봉 or FORE(Forever)Bong (CIX’s lightstick), while overwhelming screams could be heard throughout as the opening VCR played. The excitement reached its peak as silhouettes of BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, Bae Jinyoung, and Hyunsuk could be seen on center stage.

Clad in black ensembles featuring semi-loose ties and jackets all but dripping various amounts of jewels, CIX kickstarted the concert on a high note with some of their top hits such as “Numb,” “Young,” and “Jungle.” The members’ impressive performances were accompanied by even more impressive energy from CIX and FIX alike.

When it came time for the opening ment, CIX introduced themselves one by one, making the crowd swoon with their charisma and unreal visuals. They shared their excitement about their second world tour, visiting Oakland FIX, and promised to give an amazing performance (as if they hadn’t done so already).

Following their ment, CIX resumed their impressive stages with “Imagine,” “Like It That Way,” and “Without You.” As the last of the three songs ended, the members took the chance to have a quick outfit change while the VCR was playing before returning to their solo stages. First up was Yonghee, who performed a serine cover of “Holy” by Justin Bieber. BX performed next, highlighting his rap skills with Futuristic’s track “Bodied.” Rounding out the solos were Seunghun, Hyunsuk, and Jinyoung, who nailed their solo performances of “Heartbreak Anniversary” by Giveon, “Text Me” by DPR Live, and “Alright” by Keshi, respectively.

After hyping on their crowd with powerful stages and moving solo performances, CIX changed into more casual outfits before taking the stage once again. The members performed back-to-back hits and fan favorites off their discography, such as “458,” “Bad Dream,” and “Movie Star.”

During their final ment session, CIX once again thanked FIX for their continued support. While they seemed apologetic that their tour was ending, they were thankful for the time they got to spend with fans nonetheless and hoped they enjoyed the performance before leaving the stage. In particular, the crowd chanted encore, knowing CIX would soon return wearing tour merch for their final performance of the night. BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, Bae Jinyoung, and Hyunsuk did just that, wowing the audience with performances of “Cinema” and the b-side track “The One” off the group’s 2019 debut album.

As the members took their final bow on stage, it was easy to tell that they weren’t quite ready to leave. The members slowly made their way from one side of the stage to the other, waving, throwing finger hearts, and blowing kisses to anyone and everyone they made eye contact with. Finally, with one last wave, the members made their way off stage, with Seunghun being the last to go.

Shortly after the group’s departure stage right, the house lights flickered back on, signaling the end of the concert and, by proxy, the end of CIX’s Save Me, Kill Me tour. The atmosphere was intoxicating as FIX began to share their favorite moments with one another from the last few hours. However, one thought was unanimous. BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, Bae Jinyoung, and Hyunsuk were mesmerizing from beginning to end.

Congratulations to CIX on successfully completing your second world tour, Save Me, Kill Me. I hope you get some much-needed rest and eagerly await your next project.
