G2 Shares His Pre-Show Rituals And Discusses Latest Collaboration With Friends

Get to know more about G2 in this exclusive interview.

Having risen to prominence through the popular Korean rap competition "Show Me The Money," G2 has become a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. Beyond his rap roots, he has diversified into television and film while also embarking on global music tours.

His inaugural solo album, "G2's Life," boasts collaborations with notable artists such as Gray, Jessi, Dok2, and Paloalto, accumulating over 25 million streams. Undeterred and driven, this independent artist continues to push boundaries, showcasing his musical prowess on his own terms.

In a brief interview with me, G2 expresses his enthusiasm for upcoming collaborations with friends and fellow artists, offers glimpses into behind-the-scenes moments, and hints at what fans can anticipate next from this multifaceted artist.

Hello, G2! Firstly, thanks for taking the time to speak with me. Please introduce

yourself to my readers.

Hello, I’m an artist/rapper named G2!

Congratulations on your upcoming project with Junoflo, Justin Park, and Year of the OX.

What excites you most about the new music and the show in Los Angeles?

I’m really good friends with all of them and have been for a while, and it’s exciting just to

group together and do what we do best. The whole process was so fun, easy, and

fulfilling at the same time to see everything come alive.

Can you provide any teasers or spoilers of what fans expect from the live show? Is there a particular song you’re excited to perform live?

All of us are such great performers, and with all the songs we did together in recent days

on stage, I think it’s gonna be a wild show.

Do you have any pre-show rituals?

I actually have a lot of anxiety and stage fright, so I try to stay relaxed and as calm as

possible before I hit the stage.

What impression do you hope to leave on fans with this new project?

We sound great collectively, but you can also see all the individual artists' characters and

artistry, and I think that’s something fans will appreciate.

Tell me about the two new singles, “Dale Denton” and “Gold Rocky.” Did you participate

in the songwriting and composing of the songs together? Did you add any of your own

G2 creative flow to the lyrics?

Dale Denton is a beat produced by Jaeyoung of Year of the Ox, and I heard the beat

prior to the meetings. So when I heard it, it was easy for me with the familiarity, but it was

more so because I heard the guys on the track before me, and all I had to do was just

match their energy. Gold Rocky was super fun and easy, too. We were just in the studio

together and Justin’s hook was already there, so all we had to do was talk our piece.

I saw that you shot music videos for both “Gold Rocky” and “Dale Denton.” Are there any

memorable behind-the-scene stories or moments you can share with us?

It’s always fun hanging out with the homies, let alone doing actual work while on the

same bullshit.

What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

Having a career and a whole different life in Korea and then transitioning over to LA has

definitely been a very pivotal time in my life. I think I grew as a person and an artist.

What inspired you to start making music?

I couldn’t go to college.

What’s your goal for this year, personally or as an artist?

I just want to get my music heard and art seen.

What can fans expect from you next?

More music and more art!

Lastly, can you please share a message of love for your fans?

Love the support! Truly grateful for all the love and energy. It does mean a lot that fans

take the time to really listen and get to know the artist in their own way. And I’m always

here to communicate and share!
