K-Pop Roundup: September 2022

Welcome to my first monthly K-Pop roundup! Each month I will highlight some of my favorite releases - EPs, full albums, singles, and more - from K-Pop artists. From debuts and collabs to comebacks and more, there was an array of fun music released throughout September. Notable comebacks include ONEUS, NCT 127, Jackson Wang, CRAXY, BLACKPINK, Jay B, ITZY, and the official debuts of EXO’s XIUMIN (solo), mimiirose, and We;Na, to name a few.

Here are my top 10 favorite new releases of the month for September 2022! If you don’t have time to read it all, scroll to the end to see what my top 3 recommendations are.

 
ONEUS - Same Scent

RBW Entertainment’s talented quintuplet, ONEUS, released its eighth mini-album, MALUS, and its alluring title track, “Same Scent,” on September 5.

Jackson Wang (GOT7) - Blue

GOT7’s Jackson Wang dropped his second studio album, “Magic Man,” and its title track, “BLUE,” on September 9 to much fanfare from AHGASE.

JUN (SEVENTEEN) - LIMBO

SEVENTEEN’s JUN released his third digital single, “LIMBO,” including a Chinese and Korean version on September 23.

NCT 127 - 2 Baddies

NCT 127 made its grand return on September 16 with the release of its fourth album, 2 Baddies, with the title track of the same name.

MIRAE - Drip N’Drop

Charming septuplet MIRAE dropped its fourth mini-album, Ourturn, and its title track, “Drip N’Drop,” on September 28.

XIUMIN - Brand New

EXO’s XIUMIN released his much anticipated solo album, Brand New, alongside the title track of the same name on September 26.

LIMELIGHT - Eye to Eye

Adorable rookie girl group LIMELIGHT dropped their pre-debut EP LIMΞLIGHT, and its lead track, “Eye to Eye,” on September 28.

LAPILLUS - GRATATA

MLD’s newest rookie girl group, LAPILLUS, dropped its first mini album, GIRL’s ROUND Part. 1 and its lead title track, “GRATATA,” on September 22.

BLACKPINK - SHUT DOWN

BLACKPINK released its long-awaited second album, BORN PINK, and its title track, “SHUT DOWN,” on September 16.

BE’O - Complex

BE’O released their first mini-album, FIVE SENSES, and its title track, “Complex(자격지심) (Feat. ZICO),” on September 29.
