OMEGA X, an eleven-member boy group under Spire Entertainment, made its first appearance on the K-Pop scene on June 30, 2021, with the mini album VAMOS.
Consisting of highly talented members of previous K-Pop boy groups Jaehan, Hwichan, Sebin, Hangyeom, Taedong, Xen, Jehyun, Kevin, Junghoon, Hyuk, and Yechan, the members immediately captured the hearts of fans with their backstory. Having been in the music industry for just over a year, the boys of OMEGA X have already showcased their huge potential and are ready to sweep the industry by storm with their musical prowess, visuals, and dance skills.
I recently caught up with OMEGA X to talk about the "CONNECT: Don't Give Up" World Tour, share fun moments while on the road, what they do in their spare time, and more! Keep reading to learn more about OMEGA X.

Hey guys, nice to meet you! OMEGA X: Hi! Nice to meet you.
Congratulations on your first debut anniversary and the tour! What can you tell me about this last year? OMEGA X (Hangyeom): Since our debut on June 30, 2021, until today, we’ve been working, creating, and performing nonstop. We are human, so we get tired, but our fans, For X, are always the ones who motivate us and keep us going. We have great opportunities to participate in writing lyrics and composing our own songs. It’s a great chance in life that not many people can experience. So, thanks to our friends and our fans, we can feel happiness and love.
Do you have any goals you would like to achieve by next year?
OMEGA X (Sebin): Our goal is to visit everywhere For X is. It would be nice to get more recognition, like winning the best performance award, so we have to work harder. But again, our biggest priority is meeting For X all around the world.
Where would you love to go next?
OMEGA X (Xen): I would love to visit Europe because I want to share my hobbies and what I love with our members and For X.
OMEGA X (Junghoon): I really want to visit Paris because I enjoy Parisian films and want to feel those vibes.
OMEGA X (Hangyeom): I’ve been to Spain before on a World Tour (Seven O’Clock), and I remember the energy level of the fans was so high. I can’t wait to go back again.
Hyuk: Brazil, England, and Spain are definitely on my list of places I want to visit. I would love to perform there and experience the culture.
So many international fans have been asking for OMEGA X to come to their country. Do you have any plans to go to Brazil?
OMEGA X (Hangyeom: When preparing for this tour, Brazil was one of the countries we were supposed to visit during the Latin American schedule. Unfortunately, our Brazil show was canceled, which was very shocking and sad for us. Hopefully, we can go back and perform in front of our Brazilian fans soon. For X, I love you.
What is one thing you guys learned while performing on stage during this tour?
OMEGA X (Hangyeom): While we were performing, communicating, and having fun with For X, it made me think about different set lists and different styles of music that we can create and perform for them at future concerts.
One thing I learned by watching other artists’ concerts and performances was how to do different styles. So I hope to improve that for our future concerts so we can share better performances and experiences for For X.
Touring with eleven members must be difficult. What is your favorite and least favorite thing?
OMEGA X (Jehyun): Since we have a lot of members, we are never boring. A group of us is always having fun somewhere, so we can jump in and have fun together. We always keep ourselves entertained.
OMEGA X (Hangyeom): We all have different personalities and preferences, but most of all, we talk a lot - which I enjoy and love. The best part of touring with all ten other members is that it feels like I'm just hanging out with my best friends daily. However, my least favorite would be that we’re too loud, which sometimes can be a little too much.
OMEGA X (Xen): My least favorite part would be the transportation process. It was challenging because we had so many pieces of luggage, so we needed to check those in and go through security almost daily to fly somewhere else. So it can be a little bit tiring. When I look back on the tour, my favorite part was that For X’s love made it all worthwhile.
If you had to split into subunits, which type of music would you do? What would the name of your subunit be? OMEGA X (Jaehan): On our most recent album, there’s a song called “Airplane.” It would be fun to try more of that style – a little bit of hip-hop and R&B. For a unit name, we can keep it simple and drive the name from each other. So it’ll be something like Kim, Song, and Shin. OMEGA X (Jehyun): Maybe I can make a unit with Xen and Taedong. We can name the subunit “Middles” because, age-wise, we are in the middle of the group. So maybe we can make a track like “CONTROL” from our first full album. OMEGA X (Hyuk): Our members are very talented in writing lyrics and composing songs, so I am confident we can pull off great performances and music. We once did “LIAR” during our LOVE ME LIKE showcase, so maybe we can try a similar, unbanned style performance with the same members again.
For X was credited as a writer for helping with “For Baby.” Is there a chance for that to happen again in the future? OMEGA X (Jaehan): When we started making this song, we hoped songs like “For Baby” would be on every album. We hope to continue this project with our fans because it can be in their memories forever. So that is something we really want For X to keep in their hearts for a long time.
All of you have shown an interest in composing songs for OMEGA X. Do you have other interests you’d like to explore? OMEGA X (Sebin): I would like to participate in the album design because it's important that it follows trending styles. Right now, it’s very trendy to keep the design simple, minimal, and eco-friendly. So, I would love to design our album. I am confident that I can do that well. OMEGA X (Hyuk): We already have a concept and music style, but I would love to try playing the guitar in the album intro someday. OMEGA X (Hangyeom): I’m always interested in the background story. What’s behind the album story? What’s behind the album concept? What stories are being told? So, creating and telling those stories is something I’m interested in participating in. OMEGA X (Xen): One of my hobbies is taking photos. During this tour, I took a lot of pictures of the members and the scenery everywhere we went. If the members allow, I would like to study photography more and take our jacket and album photos of the members one day. That is actually on my bucket list. OMEGA X (Jeyhun): I participated in creating photo cards for our LOVE ME LIKE album, so that is something I would like to try again. If I get the opportunity, I want to take photos of my members and create even cooler photo cards. OMEGA X (Yechan): Unfortunately, we had to perform on the square-shaped stages this time. So if there’s a next time, we can use a lot more equipment like a flame machine or stages at the front. It would be nice to create special performances like that for For X.
Since the name of the tour was "CONNECT: Don't Give Up," has there been a time when you wanted to give up? What gave you the strength to keep on going? OMEGA X (Yechan): I thought it felt challenging and impossible sometimes because we had this schedule where we had to board a plane at night and wouldn’t arrive until dawn. We also needed to shower a couple of times at the venue, which took a great deal of energy. So that gave me a lot of stress. I know that I can get energy from the fans when I’m on stage. I try to wait in silence until the show begins, but I think watching some videos or shows of other artists I love can be another way to gain energy. OMEGA X (Xen): Waking up every morning was a challenge for me. That's when I want to give up, to go back to sleep and have a day of rest. Today, we woke up earlier than usual to talk with you. I woke up a little later than planned and wanted to return to bed. But then I thought about you (our interviewer), who are interested in and wish to support us, our staff who work very hard for us, and of course, For X. Thinking of them motivated me to get up. OMEGA X (Hangyeom): If you look at our setlist from the tour, we performed “WHAT’S GOIN’ ON” followed by “BAILA CON OX.” For me, that was the most challenging part every time - I looked at the other members performing hard next to me, and it motivated me to keep going. That’s the place I want to give up. We had a lot of luggage. Not just our luggage but we also have outfits, accessories, and makeup that are very heavy. We have to carry them from place to place, which greatly hurts our backs. Those times are also times when we want to give up and rest, but we would say to each other, “Hey, let’s not give up, don’t give up” to each other. It almost became a motto for everyone during this tour. For all of our members, the number one reason we can be OMEGA X is all the love and support from For X. They are the sole reason we can continue this without giving up.
