From embarking on their first-ever world tour, 2022 P1Harmony LIVE TOUR [P1ustage H : PEACE] and collaborating with American artist Pink Sweat$ to their latest album Harmony: Set In entering Billboard’s World Albums Chart at No. 14 and more, the past year has been huge for P1Harmony.
On Sunday, January 22nd, fans were lined up down the block in front of Oakland’s Paramount Theatre, huddling together in the brisk cold afternoon, eager to see their favorite sextuplet. Fans walked up and down the line handing out freebies (homemade pcs, buttons, and banners), offering photos with a large cardboard cut out of one of the members, and more. While most fans dressed for comfort in the winter air, including some Pokemon onesie PJs, some fans braved the bitter cold donning previous album concepts of their favorite member.
An Intense Opening
Appearing on stage while donning a mix of bejeweled red and black military-inspired jackets, Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob kicked off the night performing “Look At Me Now,” off their latest album, Harmony: Set In. Loud screams and cheers from P1ece quickly filled the venue as the members showcased their potent stage presence.
They continued their introduction stage by singing “Back Down,” followed by a rock version of “Scared.” Through these two songs, the members were able to showcase not only their vocal range but also their rap skills. A powerful choreography also accompanied their performance of both songs, which made seeing both songs performed live a hundred times better.
While delivering their first Ment, the members could not help but show their excitement to be performing in Oakland for the first time as well as performing for P1ece after such a long time.
Our Charismatic Members
While it was obvious that the superstar fourth-generation K-Pop group gained a lot of fans over the last year, they didn’t forget to connect with fans and show off their amazing friendship throughout their Ments. Greeting fans mostly in English, the members’ charisma was on full display as they openly expressed their happiness, told jokes, and fawned over each other.
Of course, a concert would not be complete without at least one member expressing their desire for the night not to end. This happened to be Intak, who repeatedly stated, “I don’t want to leave,” as the end of the encore and subsequent end of the concert approached.
Vibrant Solo & Unit Stages
Following another set of songs and a VCR, the members split into solo and unit stages. Each member effortlessly revealed their individual talents, as shown by Theo’s alluring rendition of “21” by Dean, Soul’s emotional cover of Jung Joonil’s “Hug Me,” and Keeho’s elegant execution of Beyonce’s “Deja Vu.”
Backed by thundering screams, Jiung took the stage next, donning a Michael Jackson-inspired outfit. As he moonwalked across the stage and completed the first verse, Keeho, and Soul joined him for a unique cover of Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good.”
After the trio left, the final two members, Intak and Jongseob, took to the stage, wearing long white fur coats. In what can best be described as a pseudo-rap battle (but not), the two wowed fans with their magnetism. While a mic drop may not have occurred, it was definitely implied by the duo’s amazing rap skills.
P1Harmony devoured the stage with all their might, transitioning from song to song effortlessly. With a setlist that included their debut song, recent hits, and fan-favorite b-side tracks, these talented performers are a must-see each and every time they tour.
