From "SO BAD" to "Bubble,” STAYC Dazzles With Hits and Surprises In An Unforgettable Night in Seattle.
Seattle K-pop fans experienced a night to remember as the girl group STAYC graced the stage as part of their STAYC 1ST WORLD TOUR TEENFRESH. Organized by Powerhouse, the spectacular evening happened on October 24, 2023, at the iconic Showbox SODO. With their captivating performances and stunning visuals, STAYC left their fans, affectionately referred to as "SWITH" (a fusion of "STAYC" and "with"), breathless and craving for more.
STAYC, short for "Star To A Young Culture," is a South Korean girl group formed by High Up Entertainment. Comprised of six talented members - Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J - the group burst onto the K-Pop scene on November 12, 2020, with their debut single album, Star to a Young Culture. Since then, they have been garnering fans worldwide, and their Seattle stop was a testament to their growing popularity.
As the venue's lights dimmed and the music began to fill the air, STAYC made their grand entrance, igniting the night with an explosive burst of energy as they launched into "SO BAD." This spirited opener established the electric atmosphere that would define the night. SWITHs were immediately drawn into the group's dynamic stage presence. The captivating choreography and powerful vocals of each member had the audience captivated from the start.
As the opening songs unfolded, STAYC maintained their impressive momentum with fan favorites such as "RUN2U," "POPPY," and "YOUNG LUV," demonstrating their remarkable skills. Each member showcased their incredible vocal talents and dance prowess, ensuring the audience stayed captivated and dancing throughout.
Following the initial segment of their setlist, STAYC took a well-deserved brief intermission to recharge, undergo costume changes, and offer SWITHs a chance to catch their breath. Before long, Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J returned to the stage with a newfound energy, treating the audience to an incredible sequence of their hits that included "STEREOTYPE," "Teddy Bear," and "24/7."
One of the night's most indelible moments occurred just after the halfway point of the show when STAYC not so surprised the crowd (thanks to spoilers online) with a rendition of Miley Cyrus's "Party in the USA." This unexpected performance prompted the audience to joyfully sing along and dance, adding an extra layer of excitement to the already electrifying night.
STAYC maintained its streak of delivering one chart-topper after another. "I LIKE IT" and "SO WHAT" kept the energy levels at their peak, with fans enthusiastically singing along and dancing to the infectious rhythm of these tracks. The group's talent for connecting with their fans was readily apparent as they engaged with the audience, turning the concert into an intimate and immersive experience.
Another standout moment of the evening was the performance of the unreleased track, "Flexing On My Ex." SWITHs welcomed the song with tremendous enthusiasm, showering the venue with cheers as they reveled in the exclusive glimpse of this exciting new addition to STAYC's repertoire.
The show also featured the tracks "ASAP," "SAME SAME," "SLOW DOWN," and a reggae-infused version of "BEAUTIFUL MONSTER," each of which brought something unique to the performance. I was especially impressed with the way STAYC seamlessly blended various musical styles into their setlist, showcasing their adaptability and all-round talents as artists.
As the night came to an inevitable close, SWITHs left the venue with smiles on their faces and a fountain of memories of STAYC's TEENFRESH tour stop in Seattle.
