TAN MADE 2nd US Tour: K-Pop Phenomenon TAN Shines Bright in Fresno

After five months, TAN is back with a night to remember for California SODAs.

On the magical evening of September 28, 2023, the Tower Theatre in Fresno, California, played host to a phenomenal K-Pop concert that had not only from all corners of the state but also from across North America and beyond in an absolute frenzy.

TAN, short for To All Nations, took the stage for a night that will be forever etched in the hearts of those in attendance. The group, consisting of members Changsun, Jooan, Jaejun, Sunghyuk, Taehoon, and Jiseong, delivered an unforgettable performance despite the absence of their seventh member, Hyunyeop, who was unable to participate in the tour due to circumstances beyond their control.

An Electrifying Start

As the lights dimmed and the on-screen countdown started, signaling the start of the concert, TAN transported the audience to another world with their opening number, "Walking on the Moon." It was a moment that set the tone for a concert far from ordinary. While the fans enjoyed the show in the traditional Korean seated style, it was anything but typical. The stage radiated energy, with TAN's charisma on full display. Their commanding stage presence drew the audience in, with each member exuding a magnetic allure that held SODA captivated. In particular, Changsun, Jooan, Jaejun, Sunghyuk, Taehoon, and Jiseong showcased their versatility, delivering soul-stirring vocals with as much finesse as their high-energy dance numbers. But it wasn't just their musical prowess that shone; it was their connection with the audience. TAN's stage presence was magnetic, and their genuine interactions with the crowd left an indelible mark.

A Night of Music & Magic

The setlist crafted a beautiful journey through their discography, with tracks like "Beautiful Lie," "Artificial Heart," "My Heart," "Louder," "Tarzan," "Jekyll&Hyde," and "Violet." Between "Louder" and "TARZAN," TAN surprised the crowd with a Q&A session combined with a random dance play, providing an intimate glimpse into their personalities and camaraderie. The brief break served as the perfect segway for all members, except Changsun, to undergo costume changes in preparation for their unit performances of "TARZAN" and "Jekyll&Hyde" from their latest album, TANMADE [I]. During this interval, Changsun took on the role of the MC, guiding the audience through the break until he could take his turn to change backstage.

The concert didn't just reach its peak; it blasted off to the moon during the encore as SODA got to their feet, turning the entire venue into a wild and infectious frenzy. They flooded the aisles and crowded around the stage to join TAN in a sensational musical celebration. Never ones to miss out on the fun, the TAN members orchestrated a daring stunt that momentarily left those near the stage holding their breath. They leaped off the stage, racing up and down the main aisles, high-fiving attendees along the way. As SODA belted out the lyrics, their voices blended seamlessly with the group's, creating an unforgettable crescendo that will be etched into TAN concert history forever.

Globally Recognized When?

Yet, amidst the euphoria, a lingering question tugged persistently at my thoughts throughout the night: why isn't TAN receiving the global recognition it truly deserves? With their exceptional talent, boundless charisma, and an uncanny ability to forge a deep connection with their fanbase, they shine as a hidden gem in the expansive universe of the K-Pop industry. Nonetheless, for those privileged enough to witness their mesmerizing performance in Fresno, it was a night that they won't soon forget. It served as a powerful reminder of their limitless potential and ignited an unwavering hope that their long-overdue ascent to global popularity is on the brink of realization. TAN may currently be flying under the radar, but the impending journey into the worldwide spotlight remains an undeniable truth.

Meanwhile, the TAN 2nd USA Tour TAN Made [I] heads to Atlanta for a performance on October 1, followed by Miami on October 3, Charlotte on October 5, and wraps up in Dallas on October 8. Tickets are still available on KPopTix.
